By creating an account and using Samla, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use our service.

2. Description of Service

Samla is a privacy-first community platform that enables groups to organize, communicate, and coordinate events. We provide:

  • Group creation and management
  • Message boards for discussions
  • Event planning with RSVP
  • File sharing (images, documents)

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of unauthorized access
  • Providing accurate information

Account requirements:

  • You must be at least 16 years old
  • You must provide a valid email address
  • One account per person
  • No impersonation of others

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use Samla to:

Prohibited Content

  • Post illegal content
  • Share hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
  • Spread misinformation or spam
  • Share sexually explicit material
  • Violate intellectual property rights
  • Share private information of others without consent
  • Post malware, viruses, or malicious code

Prohibited Behavior

  • Harass, threaten, or bully other users
  • Impersonate others or create fake accounts
  • Attempt to hack, compromise, or disrupt the service
  • Scrape or collect user data without permission
  • Use automated tools (bots) without authorization
  • Circumvent rate limits or security measures

5. Content Ownership and License

Your Content

You retain all rights to content you post. By posting, you grant Samla a license to:

  • Store and display your content to other group members
  • Make necessary technical copies for service operation
  • Create backups for data protection

This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Other Users' Content

Content posted by others remains their property. You may not:

  • Copy or redistribute others' content without permission
  • Use others' content for commercial purposes
  • Claim others' content as your own

6. Privacy and Data Protection

We take your privacy seriously. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Key privacy commitments:

  • We don't sell your data
  • No advertising or tracking
  • You can export your data anytime
  • You can delete your account anytime

7. Moderation and Enforcement

We may take action if you violate these terms:

Possible Actions

  • Warning: First-time minor violations
  • Content removal: Delete specific posts or content
  • Temporary suspension: Limit account access for a period
  • Permanent ban: Terminate account for severe or repeated violations

Group Moderation

Group administrators and moderators can:

  • Remove posts and replies in their groups
  • Remove members from their groups
  • Set group rules and screening questions

Group moderators must also follow these Terms of Service.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations

Service "As Is"

Samla is provided "as is" without warranties. We don't guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Complete accuracy of user content
  • Security against all threats
  • Specific uptime or availability

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Actions of other users
  • Third-party content or links

9. Service Changes and Termination

We May

  • Modify features or discontinue the service
  • Change these terms (with notice)
  • Limit or restrict access for maintenance

You May

  • Stop using the service at any time
  • Delete your account from settings
  • Export your data before leaving

10. Intellectual Property

Samla's design, code, logos, and trademarks are our property. You may not:

  • Copy or modify the Samla platform
  • Use our trademarks without permission
  • Reverse engineer our service

However, Samla is built with open-source components. See our GitHub repository for details.

11. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint:

  1. Contact us at support@samla.app
  2. We'll work with you to resolve the issue
  3. If unresolved, disputes are governed by Swedish law
